How do I contact my student's teachers or counselor?

The best way to contact your student's teacher(s) or counselor is to call the school and ask for your student's.  Speak to the counselor (or leave a voice mail message). Try to explain what you need as clearly and simply as possible.  Your counselor can contact teachers and arrange for a phone call from them to you. If you would rather set up a parent conference that can be arranged as well.  Some teachers place their email address on the schools general website at www.resedahighschool.net.  You can email those teachers.

Where can I get information about events, report card dates, meetings, and other scheduled school activities?

The school maintains a calendar at www.resedahighschool.net.  Click on the Calendar button on the right side of the www.resedahighschool.net screen.

I need to get in touch with a friend I had when I went to school many years ago.  Can you give me his/her phone number and address?

This is always a difficult situation for us.  State and Federal privacy laws do not allow public schools to give out personal information about any former student.  Their privacy is completely protected.  Even though we would like to help, we generally cannot.  We do not maintain alumni contact information. This is the job of the officers of each graduating class.  As a service to alumni we do provide links to alumni websites and we do offer alumni the opportunity to provide contact information at www.resedahighschool.net, just click on the alumni button on the left side of the screen. Commercial websites such as www.classmates.com and www.reunions.com can also be helpful.

How can I make a reservation to have my special event meal catered by the school's student cafeteria?

While this question does not come up very often, if you are planning a wedding, or other event, and would like to serve LAUSD food at your event, you can call the school and ask for the cafeteria manager, for menus and pricing  information.

How can I have a building named after myself or a family member?

If you are willing to make a substantial donation to support education at Reseda High, we can discuss the possibility of naming a hallway, classroom, building, or if the donation is substantial enough, we can discuss renaming the school.  Anyone interested in this must provide documentation that the person being honored has never been accused or convicted of any felony or other major crime or any sort.

Why do teachers give so much homework?

Homework is an essential part of school. Homework is given to practice and reinforce information and skills taught in class.  Often homework is provided to provide new information and the opportunity to cover material that cannot be covered in class.  The best example for understanding homework is the understanding how people learn to play musical instruments.  You spend time with a music teacher learning a new song.  You then go home and practice, practice, practice.  If you do not practice, you will not be able to play that song.

Can I donate my old car, truck, motor home, or boat, stocks, bonds, or other valuable property to Reseda High School?

Yes. We accept donations of all types, and will do what we can to assist you in your effort to support education at Reseda High School?

Did a man once live for six years in the secret tunnels under Reseda High School?

We have found a variety of evidence that supports this urban legend, but we cannot confirm that this is actually a true story.  The story may have been started by a science teacher who, at one time gave tours of the vast array of tunnels under the Reseda High School campus.

What does the word Reseda mean?

Reseda is the name of a small group of plants.  Look it up on the Internet and see. Go to www.google.com and search for the word reseda. Besides links to the city you will find a few links to various plants of the genus Reseda.

Are all of these questions for real?

Several of these questions are in fact an attempt at light hearted humor, but most are honest answers to frequently asked questions.  The purpose of the attempted humor is to see if anyone is really reading these questions.  Unfortunately, I can't tell the humorous ones from the serious ones, so you be the judge.  By the way, if anyone decides they want to make a large enough donation to rename the school, would you please specify in that donation that I should get a new computer.

I do not see my question here, what should I do?

If you do not see your question you may ask it by filling out the Contact Reseda High form, on this site. We will attempt to answer any reasonable and politely delivered question, although it may take a day or two for the answers, because the teacher who answers the questions sometimes needs to grade homework mentioned earlier.
